Avema Celebrates 10 Years of Helping Corporations Save on Telecom Expenses
March 21, 2005Most companies can easily reduce telecom costs by 10%: telecom expert
Toronto, Canada. March 21, 2005 – Last month marked the tenth anniversary for Avema Corporation, a telecom expense management firm. Headquartered in Toronto, Avema’s expertise has helped hundreds of organizations in Canada and around the world save millions of dollars on telecom expenses through unique software and professional services. Gartner estimates that the average enterprise overpays telecom bills by 5-10%.
Avema started business over 10 years ago, performing telecom cost reviews for large organizations. In their early telecom consulting practice, they would advise clients on getting refunds, negotiating better rates, and other cost reduction strategies. Through their industry expertise, they saw the need to automate these processes within companies. As early as 1997, Avema was building software to perform its telecom review services, and then later began development of its software designed for direct use by clients.
“Today Avema’s mission is to provide telecom managers with a suite of powerful software tools that helps them gain more clarity of their telecom costs, rid themselves of manual administrative chores, and free up more time to focus on higher value strategic work,” said Roger Yang, CEO and Founder, Avema Corporation. “Most companies aren’t aware that they can realize immediate savings with a few changes to their telecom policies and processing. Until recently, telecom management tools have been limited to adaptations of manual processes, the equivalent of hammers and screwdrivers when compared to today's power tools.”
Avema also founded the Avema Global Alliance: a seamless network of like-minded, specialized telecom consulting and service companies who collectively service multinational companies in over 20 countries worldwide. Avema is also industry partners with IBM and Sun Microsystems.
